Watch our for upcoming community events here! We love to celebrate local food in our community, and one way we do that is by holding family-oriented programs designed to help your family incorporate local food into your lifestyle.
April 23rd – Growing Microgreens Class
Join us and learn how you can grow microgreens at home! Find out why microgreens are a great thing to add to your diet, methods for growing them indoors, and check out some recipes featuring microgreens. We’ll talk about the difference between sprouts and microgreens, and how you can incorporate microgreens into your gardening habits all year long.
And, of course, we’ll have some tasty treats to share! The class is designed for adults, but kids are welcome to attend, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. The class will be held at the Wapello County Extension Office (13011 120th Ave, Ottumwa) and the cost is $5 to attend. You must call and register (so we have enough snacks!) with Jen at 641-682-5491, or send a message through Facebook.
This class will count as 1.5 hours of continuing education for certified Master Gardeners. Click here for more information.
