Herb-infused Sun Tea

Get your creativity juices flowing and experiment with herbs and sun tea! Feel free to use any kind of edible herbs, or use our suggestions!

  • 4-8 tea bags any flavor, as directed
  • 1 gallon water
  • herbs of your choosing


  1. Add tea bags to a clear glass container and add one gallon of water. Add desired herbs (see ideas below), gently crushing them before adding.

  2. Stir, and place container in the sun. Let flavors infuse for 3-6 hours (give or take).

  3. Serve over ice and enjoy. Add sweetener if necessary!

Recipe Notes

Black tea is normally used for sun tea, but you can use any tea. Herbal, black, green, or flavored. You can even use a mixture of different tea bags for a unique blend.
Fresh and Minty Sun Tea
Add 3-5 sprigs of any type of mint
Pineapple Mint Sun Tea
Add 2-3 sprigs of pineapple sage and 3-5 sprig of any type of mint
Cool Lemony Sun Tea
Add 3-5 sprigs of lemon balm
